Privacy built for sensitive pregnancy questions.
This policy explains how Doola handles information across Doola Scan, our website, and related services. It is written to reflect the current product: pregnancy-safe educational guidance, not generic child tracking.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, account preferences, pregnancy or parenting stage, feedback, support messages, and content you submit through Doola Scan or other Doola features.
When you use Doola Scan, you may provide photos, product labels, ingredient text, food or skincare questions, or other context needed to return a pregnancy-safety explanation. Please avoid uploading information you do not want processed for that purpose.
We also collect technical and usage information such as device type, app version, browser type, IP address, approximate location derived from technical signals, crash logs, feature interactions, referral source, and analytics events.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and maintain the Services, process scan and search requests, personalize pregnancy-stage guidance, respond to support requests, improve product quality, prevent abuse, protect security, comply with legal obligations, and measure marketing or product performance.
Doola may use de-identified, aggregated, or otherwise privacy-preserving information to understand common pregnancy-safety questions and improve educational content. We do not use your personal information to provide medical diagnosis or emergency care.
3. Service providers and disclosures
We may share information with service providers that help us operate Doola, including cloud hosting, database, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, payment, app store, AI/vision processing, email, and security providers.
Before sending scan or question content to AI or vision service providers, Doola is designed to minimize the request and strip out or anonymize direct personal identifiers where reasonably possible. Because users may type or upload free-form content, please avoid including names, contact details, medical record numbers, or other identifiers in scan photos or questions unless needed for support.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or Doola, in connection with a business transfer, or with your consent. We do not sell your pregnancy scan content or pregnancy-related submissions. If applicable law treats certain analytics or advertising disclosures as a sale or sharing, we will provide the choices required by that law.
4. Pregnancy and health-related information
Some information you provide may relate to pregnancy, parenting, symptoms, products, nutrition, or other health-adjacent questions. We treat this information carefully, but Doola is an educational technology service and is not a healthcare provider.
Doola is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency support. If you have urgent symptoms or medical concerns, contact a qualified healthcare professional or local emergency services.
5. Retention and security
We retain user data only for as long as needed for the purpose described in this policy, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution reasons.
Account information, pregnancy or parenting profile details, saved scan history, saved questions, family context, preferences, and other user-controlled content are retained while your account is active or until you delete the content or request deletion. After a verified deletion request, we delete or de-identify this data from active systems within 30 days, unless we must keep limited records for the reasons described above.
Raw scan photos, product-label images, uploaded ingredient images, and AI or vision request content are retained only as needed to process the request, maintain scan history if you choose to save it, provide support, debug errors, protect security, and improve service quality. Raw uploaded images that are not needed for saved history, support, security, or legal reasons are deleted or de-identified within 30 days after processing.
Support messages and privacy request records may be kept for up to 3 years after the request is resolved. Security logs, abuse-prevention records, crash logs, and diagnostic logs are generally kept for up to 12 months. Analytics and product-usage events are generally kept for up to 26 months. Payment, tax, accounting, and legal records may be kept for up to 7 years or longer if required by law.
Backups and disaster-recovery copies may retain deleted data for up to 90 days before they are overwritten or deleted in the ordinary backup cycle. De-identified, aggregated, or anonymized information that can no longer reasonably identify a user may be retained for analytics, safety, research, and product-improvement purposes.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet or storage system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your choices and rights
You may be able to update account information, adjust notifications, opt out of marketing emails, or request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of certain personal information, depending on where you live.
To make a privacy request, contact contact@doola.ai. We may need to verify your request before acting on it. If you use Doola through an app store, some subscription or purchase controls must be managed directly through that app store.
7. Cookies, analytics, and advertising signals
Our websites may use cookies, local storage, analytics tags, and similar technologies to run the site, understand traffic, measure campaigns, remember preferences, and improve performance.
Where required, we will ask for consent before using optional analytics or advertising technologies. Browser and device settings may also let you limit cookies, tracking, or personalized advertising.
8. International users
Doola is operated by WOOSOO PTY LTD in Australia, and our service providers may process information in Australia, the United States, and other countries. These countries may have data protection laws different from where you live.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and respond to applicable privacy rights under relevant laws.
9. Children
Doola is intended for adults and parents-to-be, not for children to use independently. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in jurisdictions where a higher age applies, without appropriate consent.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to Doola without appropriate consent, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Doola evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide additional notice where required by law.
